Minuit — a studio experiment in editorial

A studio experiment, not client work. Minuit is a one-issue digital fashion magazine set after midnight, built to see how far a website can behave like print. We keep it as a design reference.

The brief

Most fashion and editorial sites are grids that load fast and ask for a click. We wanted to see what happens when a site is paced instead, read top to bottom like paper, with nothing on the page asking to be liked.

The brew

One continuous scroll, one issue in eight sections, with GSAP and Lenis turning the scroll into something closer to a page turn. A chapter counter tracks progress like page numbers, and the issue ends on a colophon, not a footer.

Minuit is something we made for ourselves. There is no client and no brief. The photography comes from Unsplash, the words were written by hand, and the point was to test one question: can a website be read slowly on purpose?

Vol. 01, Après Minuit, runs from a cover with a single word of navigation, Feuilleter, through a contents page, an editor's letter and four chapters: L'Heure Bleue, Soie, Les Bijoux and Après Minuit. Each chapter paces its images differently, and the motion is there to set the reading speed, not to decorate. Zodiak and Supreme carry the type against a near-black ground, with gold as the only colour, French leading and English following.

It now does a practical job. When a client asks for something editorial, cinematic or scroll-led, Minuit shows what that feels like in a browser better than a mood board can.
